So. Are you saying that the Maids and Butlers of our House have grown so obese as to have reached a state in which they cannot see what is below the BELTway LINE, which, in turn has led to cluttered halls, soiled floors and a general vestige of disarray. And this disarray, in turn, distracts the boss, Citizen Joe, from seeing them perpetually stuffing dainty pies and sweetmeats down their cakeholes as they go through the motions of doing their job????

ReplyDeleteMore to the point though, what most of the pols seems to have forgotten as you rightly point out Harlan, is that WE are their bosses...that they work for us and at our pleasure. The tables seem to be grossly turned though when it is us being treated as the wretched supplicants to their elite whimsy.
How is this for some perspective...? Our representatives in DC, in theory, ought not be any different than the 12 jurors we hold responsible to represent the common man during trial. Yet, in many ways (and certain cases obviously excepted - OJ!!), I think I would hold jurors in more esteem than our representatives in Congress...
